In the spirit of transparency, as well as we have a longstanding, positive track record with our credit card processors (and they appreciate a chuckle,too) here's our policies.
This also serves the purpose of defeating any refund/chargeback attempts due to misunderstanding.
So here it is... the entire reasoning so it's on the front page so nobody can say it was hiding! 🙄
🌺 NUMBER 1: DO NOT DO A CHARGEBACK to think it's the right way to do "a refund".
Read your terms of service - YOU are in control of your credit card and account with us - we are not. We do not have your account or credit card info. There is NEVER a reason for a chargeback.
Because of abuse of this, if you do a chargeback, or cause us to have to go in and manually cancel your account (which is a lot of work) , you will be banned from our site system as well as we will bill you a $50 fee plus the cost of the chargeback - if any.
🌺 We're not trying to be sore about this, but we cannot offer low deals AND take time to correct a problem because a member was careless. This is especially true for some folks that are flying around on the internet - navigating from a phone (ugh) and not really reading . This is clearly not you, obviously - because you're reading this, riiiight? 🥰Bless your heart! 🥰

🌺 Digital Goods Access
When you checkout, access to any digital goods is granted immediately. It's up to you to then go download your items. Check your email for further instructions or just go to the link on www.sewing.school to be directed to the download area.
🌺 Coupon codes MUST be used at time of purchase - no exceptions. It is up to YOU to take the 5 seconds to check your total to see if it is correct before hitting the final payment button. We offer different codes in different places for different groups of people - such as classes, shops, bloggers, our own sales, etc. We cannot go backward to apply a different code to a transaction. Ever.
🌺 If you want to hunt for a deal, make sure you are on OUR mailing list. It's easy to opt in on our home page at www.sewing.school .
Many of our codes are displayed right on the catalog page for the item - that is displayed prior to anyone having the ability to place an order. We are not sure how we could make it any easier.
❗️❗️❗️For your own good: We strongly discourage the use of any "one click" payment method (Paypal, Shopify, etc have these). These are beyond our control. We suggest you NEVER sign up for these! This is a card processor's greedy way of collecting the fees for your transaction. Make sure you see a correct total before hitting any of those buttons!!! Especially if you have entered a coupon code! If you hit the pay button before advancing -on the same page - for the code to "catch", those damn quick pay buttons will send you to a new page and your code didn't "catch" first.
You heard that here first. Those quick pay buttons suck.
🌺 Refunds. Here's why we can't do refunds:
❗️Time. The burden of having to do manual changes to your account, enrollments, access permissions, the bookkeeping hassle in about 5 different places (total drag!!!) and having take precious time to do the refund correctly is horrendous.
If you fail to take the 5 seconds to look at your total before hitting the payment button, it would take the staff 45-60 minutes total to fix the 5 second boo-boo. We clearly can't do that and offer deals, too.
❗️ Money. We have already paid for your transaction to happen. Credit card processors have changed their structure in 2018. We do NOT get the fees back for refunded transactions - even if they are "honest" mistakes. Those fees are brutal.
❗️ Hassle. Moreover, the same type of person that is not careful with the transaction also tends to be the kind of person that is very difficult to communicate with - some don't respond to us for days! (ask us how we know)
❗️ Abuse, Fraud & Dishonesty.
And then there are the abusive types, too, just trying to create a hassle - I digress.
We take any accusations of running unauthorized transactions on our part VERY SERIOUSLY. We do not have your credit card info.
If a transaction got ran on your card, you did it - not us.
🌺 Any filing of any chargeback will cause your account to be immediately frozen & possibly permanently banning you from our sites. We just don't need the hassles.
If you need help cancelling a subscription, for example, you MUST reach out to us if you need help BEFORE a new renewal happens.
We'd rather be sewing, too!
Every time someone steals our time away from us to handle their mistakes, it only means that time is lost that could have been productive.
I'm going to leave you with one example: One person made a mistake in Nov '19 - placing an $850 order instead of a $8.50 one! That is an OBVIOUS mistake - and YES we did do a prompt refund for her gross mistake. BUT besides the hassle of the time that we had to spend on it, it also cost us over $30 in fees - for an $8 order, mind you. It stole the profits on the next orders we took. It made it harder for us to pay our own business bills.
So that case caused us to change our terms of service to include being reimbursed and paid for any carelessness on the customer's end.
